Los Angeles is not know for its dramatic skies. But every now and then clouds make an appearance and they're often really strange and/or dramatic, as evidenced in a recent challenge:

I have a fascination for strange skies and thought it might be fun to have a place to post them. If you come across an great sky and wanna share, this is the place. No pressure. No minimums. No rules. To get us started:

I do like to look up to see if the sky is doing anything interesting. Here are a few things that caught my interest:

?????

Skies are everywhere, Ben, so I don't want to limit it :-)

As for smog, we haven't had a particularly gnarly day for a while...

Cannot wait to see them for myself Sarah. I'll be there next Tuesday.
One more day of work then it's two months long service leave.
Counting down the hours!

Happy Landings Brendon! You are in luck too, the weather is behaving itself this week. It's 28C and not a cloud in the sky. Mind you, it's likely to change quite rapidly. I hope you get at least 1 day like this though, as Helsinki is beautiful when the sun is shining.

I suffer from having something of a cloud fetish.

Clouds aren't always interesting in this part of the world though.

And the best cloud I have ever seen, several years ago. It even got published in the "Cloud Appreciation Society's" calendar.

This was sort of a weird sky:

S W Florida has no mountains or hills, but that allows us to view the sky here. Being a few miles inland from the west coast, the sun bounces off the Gulf of Mexico beneath the clouds in the evenings, making frequent good sunsets and sky shows.
