I'm looking forward to this challenge, especially since its Minimal Editing. My PS skills suck...and despite rummaging online quite a bit, I've never got the hang of it...

Didn't realize it was minimal editing, yay!

I have something in mind.
Now just have to take the time...

Remember that you can't shoot in RAW!!!
A lot of people forget and it results in a lot of DQs

I think this will be quite a challenge! It is really going to test the technical skill of the photographer, as potentially quite tricky exposure is going to have to be absolutely nailed in-camera.

I have some great ideas for this challenge but I don't know if I can pull them off with minimal editing. Basic no problem but minimal will be tough. It will be interesting to see what people can come up.

ouch!!! Minimal!?! There's absolutely no way I can be successful at this! I couldn't even do it with basic editing!

It will be fun to try. :D

In a minimal editing challenge, it's going to hard to produce an image of a subject of a lighter color than white ;)

I had to go back and re-read the challenge rules. I had missed that before. Had I been a member for this challenge, I totally would have shot in RAW.

Oh no...I've been setting up to shoot a piece of glass on a sheet.

DNMC!

Also note when viewing the Previous Light on White challenges for inspiration...(see OP)

I & II were basic editing
III & IV were advanced editing

AS mentioned....this one is minimal editing! I might have to give this a go!

Personally, I thought mine was the only one that was NOT DNMC! I mean, really. Everyone else did pale on white. I actually did light on white!

I tried that too, back in 2005.

I would have a hard time with that shot today since most exterior lamps now have those ugly, spiral fluorescent bulbs. 8(

Actually, I think that is quite clever and I wouldn't vote it down as DNMC. I was just joking anyway and making fun of the slight mess up of wording of the challenge description. I don't really take challenge descriptions to literal extremes.

I was teasing, too. :P

I got less than happy results from the multiple light source challenge with a similar take. Humor is not always welcome it seems.

Yep - very few challenges have used minimal editing. This is going to be a very good lighting challenge.

I actually have a shot that I am happy with for this...it took quite a bit of work to get the lighting right. It is fun when you accomplish the goal. I can't imagine it will score crazy high, but I like the shot so enter I will....

I've actually been looking forward to a minimal challenge, but I agree that light on white at first sounds like a lighting challenge. Since I have no light set up, and it's not winter, Im struggling to think of where I can find light on white in the natural world around me where I can just click the shutter and make it work.

My recommendations for this type of challenge is a light box. All you need is cardboard box, some white paper, a few lamps or lights with similar power, and off you go.

Me too, but I did my "Light On White" back in December 2009. Didn't fare well, but that was also two cameras back with a lot less experience. LOL.
