I also liked the music for Erin Brokovich and American Beauty.

I agree about John Williams, too...anything he did...wow.

I like movie scores as well. They especially come in handy when you cut your home movies.

Danny Elfman scores are extremely cool (MIB, Spider Man, etc), but of course, Oingo Boingo was cool back in the day...as well as those by Marc Shaiman (i.e. City Slickers, The American President, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, Sister Act, Ghosts of Mississippi...)

He's much better known for Buena Vista Social Club but I really like the scores Ry Cooder does for movies like Southern Comfort, The Long Riders and Paris, Texas.

But my all time favorite movie music is Francis Lai's score for the `60's classic romantic drama A Man and A Woman.
