I'd like to know why every single nude got eleven to fifteen 1's , but these two didn't (one got no 1's, the other got 2):

What a coincidence that they were both shot in the same location and both are newly registered accounts. Can the SC look into this please? I think it takes no rocket scientist (even though I am one) to figure out what the heck is going on here.

p.s. I just saw KarenNfld's post. She has submitted a ticket to the SC.

Plus, when looking at 2 of the profiles of the newly registered commenters, the avg scores given in the challenge by those individuals are 2.8503 and 3.3716. It appears they only liked their friend's image and the rest of us received 1s and 2s. :-(

F*CK, I know this is the internet and anyone can pretty much do whatever the f*ck they want, but this kind of crap is SO annoying for those people that are truely here to learn and improve and appreciate beautiful art. Get a life.

I also noticed this and sent a ticket to SC earlier this morning.

BTW: its not the only thing fishy about this challenge, I'm not going to say what it is because I am not %100 positive it is true, but there have been some pretty serious allegations floating around the PM's this morning on an entirely different matter regarding the Weston challenge.

I'd be curious if a similar scenario would turn up in the Chips challenge where numerous folks have expressed total confusion at the early votes. If SC finds some wrong-doing in the Weston Challenge, I'd hope they'd look to see if those involved did not manipulate votes from any of the other open challenges.

I don't know whether I should, I already submitted a ticket to SC concerning it, I'm sure that if it is true, that everyone will be finding out soon enough. It is involving a possible disqualification.

Let's have SC take the time to do their job and stop this rumor mill.

Just remember that all the top five entries need to be validated, as well as other images that people feel violated some rule. SC are the proper folks to figure this stuff out and if you have a query, send a ticket to SC.

this has gotten interesting .. i had some time to kill (while the simulation was going on), so figured out atleast 7 suspects who might have voted 1's.. they all have close to 147 votes (=no of entries in Weston challenge) with an average of around 3.xx

ETA: Looking at their profile views - looks like few people here have figured out who these are!

I hear you. It angers me. If this turns out to be friends voting or a deliberate attempt to change where an entry falls in the line-up it defeats the whole purpose of the site. The spirit of the site is to share and/or learn by doing and trying new techniques or styles. Any group or individual coming in to deliberately play with the votes are just hurting the site ....and themselves.

I have to admit - I grew tired of the really, really low votes coming in - some may have been warranted but certainly not all. I pulled my entry and posted it at another site a few days later to share it there and get feedback. I am sure that all who stuck it out and did fairly well are left with a bitter taste in the mouth with this investigation. I know I am.

My scores have gone up in all challenges as I wrote my post. Does it mean SC closed their accounts? Great !!

That's a good idea. I forget sometimes that DPC is not the all-knowing, master ruler of everything to do with photography.

Don't want to go through all of the comments here, so sorry if this was already mentioned, but some of the generous comments on those photos are from super super new users and THESE are the stats for one user for example:

Challenges Entered: 0
Votes Cast: 147
Avg Vote Cast: 2.8503
Votes Received: 0
Avg Vote Received: 0.0000

Just a big, huge, EFF you.

The challenge so needs to be done over. What a waste of time for all those that worked so hard at producing a great image. I'm sorry for you all. :(

This just seems to be another one of those photography class assignments.

Doesn't anyone teach ethics anymore???

I believe, and I may be off base here, but I believe that the take-home from this is that "emulate the masters" challenges should be for paid members only, because I think they are a little more likely to vote this kind of challenge thoughtfully. It doesn't feel like a majority of the voters in this challenge really understood what makes a Weston special.
