Those babies seem to have a very good appetite already. Earlier I saw one push in front of the one Mom was trying to feed.

LOL - Now, now, Gina. You are supposed to be working.
But dang, aren't they cute and it isn't every day we get to see something like this.

HaHa. They go to infrared in (+-) 45 minutes. Then it can be beddie-bye. |

Lots of activity at the Decorah eagle homestead today.
Not lots of activity at my homestead, today.
What amazing activity is going on there. |

I haven't been able to watch a lot since the third eaglet hatched. Are the older two siblings letting it eat or are they fighting with it? I really hope all three make it. |

All eaglets are thriving. They are growing exponentially. The parents are very experienced and capable. I expect the nest to fledge all three. It's been a joy to watch. There's a prey pantry there of many fish, crow, muskrat, squirrel, etc. I'm most impressed at the sharing of nurturing duties by the mom and dad. Although, the mom takes the overnight duties most of the time. But, they swap out a lot. The dad is a great hunter/fisher. 25 million views to date.

Thanks Richard. Yes, I watched it a lot, but have been a little busy the last couple of days. Nice to hear they are all doing well. Appreciate the update. |

At the Decorah eagles homestead life is getting even more interesting. The eaglets are growing and wiggling more. For some reason, there's quite a lot of conversation between the adults today. New additions to the buffet keep coming in. And on and on.
All in all, it's just fascinating. And a guaranteed time sink. |

Yes! Don't you want to just go and tuck them back in again? |

Good bit of sibling rivalry going on as well. Especially for the moment when the parent said "enough - I'm going for a bit of a fly around - behave!" |

Lol, dad (I think) is doing a vigilant job of striking and lunging at the flies that dare get too close :-P
One of the babies is pretty far towards the edge of the nest right now. Kind of scary

The nest actually goes farther to the right quite a bit. The camera panned over that way not too long ago. I was so happy to see that it's not really that close to the edge. I guess that's why they make the barrier of sticks -- probably harder for the baby to climb over! |

Maybe Mom will have better luck finding a meal for the babies than Dad did. I didn't see them eat anything but leftovers this morning. lol |

Dad plopped in early this morning with something that was not a fish. (Well it had 4 legs and fur)
It's rather amusing to see those parents expand wings & bodies to corral those kids.
And yes, scary when the kids get too close to the edge of the play pen. |

There's a little one now just conked out in front of parent.
A few minutes ago it was prancing about, then just like babies everywhere,
all engines power down, sleepy time. |

Looks like one is trying to be quite independent already. I think I saw it help itself to food earlier, then afterwards the parent was only feeding two of them.
