I was going to give yours a 10, but I heard the rumor of the abductions. Since I was already abducted and brainwashed last week, I didn't want to bother going through it again. So I gave it a 1 instead.

Considering how different this photographer is from me, I think scoring over 5 is an amazing achievement. (it's unusual for me in any challenge) |

Pretty happy with this score. I decided to go with one of my own originals, but in the Weston style, at least as I interpret it. I had taken a number of images for this challenge, a few copy cats that I couldn't hope to compare to Westons, but in doing so it taught me more about his style. Interesting how there are so many images in the challenge that are attempts at the identical Weston image instead of capturing what was most important to him as a photographer. Have to say, there are some images that really do appear to be Weston originals. Hats off to those folks, whether copy cats or personal originals. |

Geez, I thought I had at the very least an average interpretation of a Weston, but the voters think not. :-( I hope I can make it up to my personal avg by the end of voting.

The low scores should come as no surprise as Ed's style is one that does not appeal to the DPC crowd. There is no "eye" candy or wow facotrs that pop from his pics. That is what this place is used to.
There is depth and a certain mystique to his photos but mundane IMO.. and according to the voters. Maybe we have been spoiled in the digital age with nice clean colourful images that the classic BW with nice grain is just..ho hum. Unless of course it is masterfully done..and that is rare!
