I understand some of the challenges, such as Free Study, Masters, and special ones such as Librodo Challenge always bring our voting bar lower, thinking the quality of challenge is high, so voting should be harsher (I don't know the reason, but it seems that way)

I am pretty sure, Librodo would want us to be encouraged, not discouraged. So, try to bring your voting bars a notch higher for this one. Even though placing wouldn't be different if everyone votes higher, it would give us bit more encouragement, at least during voting... and most likely after voting.

Happy voting, and good luck.

Yes, but it's not the reason I mentioned it. It's because what this challenge is. I am very sure, whoever entered, did their very best. and it's not an easy challenge. Just to encourage people for the future work of this kind, I thought it would be nice to..... well, be nicer to each other during voting :-]

Translation: Please vote us higher than you would have so we feel validated. Everyone gets a trophy in Little League.

And here I was planning to lay 3's and 4's on every shot that didn't look like it came straight from the hands of the Master, but you've shamed me out of it :-) (TIC, doncha' know?)

If it is a high quality image that speaks to me, I will give it a good score. If it isn't, I won't give it a good score. So, yep, I will raise the bar and expect more from the work in this challenge.

I'll be looking for effective emulations of techniques, as opposed to copies of subjects.

Could you make public your Top 10? (after the voting ends) I am not into portraits myself but I am vary curious how the owner of the style picks the best ones - would they be the ones you think are the best or ones that you think are the closest to your style? As this is your style can you define/describe it? I am not sure if I will vote but it is a very interesting challenge.

I'll be sure to vote only 1s. Just for you.

This thread needs more bold. I'm directionless without it.

Oh, good. It has been So Long since the last Tell Us How To Vote Thread.

Fortunately, we can all do what we want, when we want, how we want. We are not all in the same van.

Nothing like raising attention to the challenge. No change in voting for me. I call it as I see it.

Personally, I think EVERY challenge should be like that. Sure, it wouldn't make any difference in who wins, but having a bit higher averages, and less discouraging "low votes", would at least encourage people. Not talking about falsely praising images, I'm just saying that an "Average" photo should really be a 5.5. And people should be trying to encourage others as much as to compete with them.

Manny, I've always been a fan of your photos and style, and I think this is a great opportunity to study it further. Thanks for helping make this a real learning environment here by your offer to comment.

I expect the same quality in any challenge personally.

Good shot, good score. Bad shot, bad score.

Meeting the challenge is a requirement ALWAYS.

The average is 5.5 or at least pretty darn close to it (5.4412)

I'd be curious too, as to Manny's top 10. Just don't tell me your bottom 10 lol

Well, I didn't say the average should be 5.5...I said an average photo should be 5.5. I think the average should actually be higher, since overall, I think the photos here are better than average.
