...I was shooting the love. Figured since I lost my purty yellow ribbon, I would show why I'm so distracted that I submit the wrong proof file.

These are two Surprise Proposal shoots from this past week.
It was super cold this past week so I had to be creative... quickly. My couples were troopers though. Plus, the adrenaline and pure unadulterated happiness helps to keep them warm I think. Both took place in Central Park.

Cesar and Ashika - this was Saturday. Bethesda Fountain. I LOVE her reaction to the ring. I think I made that face as well when I saw the ring. It was ginormous.

Josh and Linsey - Thursday on Bow Bridge. Another fabulous reaction. Makes me love what I do.

I watched the Josh & Linsey slide show all the way through -- it is fantastic. I see why you love what you do. It made me smile how serious (nervous?) he looked beforehand, and how happy he looked after the proposal!

I'll watch the other show later. Many terrific photos in that bunch, and nary a bad one. Great job, Sharon!

Awesome! I think the reactions to the photographer were even better than the rings.

Those are gorgeous. I love when they both look at you for the first time. NOW she knows :-)

The last image of the second batch is breathtaking.

Excellent work. Perfectly done. You captured a lot of happiness that day. And the slide shows are excellent also. This would be much more fun than shooting the wedding. (I think you must be very, very good at walking backwards.)

Ahhh you old romantic.

Some of the expressions are priceless.

Haha! @ walking backwards...YES, I do quite a lot of that. :-) And YES, definitely more fun than a wedding. Thanks for the compliments!

Sharon, you've quite a lovely niche as a photographer. Very well done with true emotions.

Brilliant stuff, Sharon! I loved them all. Thanks very much for sharing them with me.

Wow... I am rarely willing to sit through slideshows of THAT length (when they are about total strangers), but in this case, I even waited patiently for the second one to load, too.

Awesome shots, I adore how you manage not to be noticed in the beginning.

I have no idea how much you charge those couples, but I'm sure the results are worth every penny to them.

Well done!!!!

Fantastic Sharon ! To capture the moment when both their lives changed forever is amazing.

P.S. I loved the music on the Cesar and Ashika slideshow - can you tell me who it is?

That made my day! Wonderful work, made me smile through each frame. (:

I think what I like best is how utterly unimportant some of the traditional "technicals" -- background lighting/color, lens flare. etc. -- are to capturing the atmosphere and emotion of the event. Imagine the comments some of these would get from DPC voters if not seen in context ...

This seems like an interesting hybrid of wedding photography and photo-journalism.

Must be a little strange stalking the couple in the "before" stage ... if you get famous you might have to start wearing disguises ... :-)

These are just beautiful...I needed a Kleenex before it was done...(I'm such a softie) love the music, such talent...

Wow! Looks like you have your ribbon back :-)
