Hey everyone,

I just launched my new website. I've update pictures in my portfolio, and also changed the layout and design of the site. I appreciate any and all feedback, positive or negative. Thanks so much.

Couple of quick ones...

* The front image on the splash does not link anywhere (if your going to have a splash).
* Needs larger images for me.... the front page takes a fraction of my screen and the details not much more.
* I don't like the changeover from the selection to the simpleview stuff but each to their own.
* "Investment" - really? Thought I was on a Fidelity site for a second :-)

Why on earth would you give away a full res cd with print rights for that little? Unless you are just doing this for fun and don't plan on making any money. Your pricing is far too low.

eta: 1.5 shoot with at least 30 images and it is likely you spend 10 minutes an image for editing and whatnot(this is on the low end) plus travel setup and take down. A session when all added up will take at minimum 8-10 hours divided by your $125 fee and you are making around $12 an hour. Now deduct your overhead and other business expenses (taxes etc..) and you are around minimum wage. Just my opinion though.

I should say I think your photos are excellent which is why I am even more shocked at your pricing.

Ryan, you asked for honest feedback, and this may be nit-picking, but your 1st two diptychs give me a negative impression. As you've learned on dpchallenge, excellence is in the details.
diptych #1 - the girl seated and looking at the camera with the blue/white outfit on. Her seated pose, and the positioning of her top makes her look pregnant - the line of the bottom of her top that looks like it is curving around her tummy, and the solid blue cording or lines (two fully visible, three total) accentuate the line.
diptych #2 - of the bride & groom - the groom looks like he has two Q-Tips sticking out of his nostrils. They are because of the sunlight / shadow contrast, and can be edited so they aren't so noticeable, but a professional wedding photographer shouldn't make such an obvious error in posing / shooting. Yes, it would make an acceptable shot, but not one I'd be showcasing.
My favorite diptych is of the lady in the yellow coat and hood. Her eyes are captivating, and both shots are excellent. This would be my suggestion for the lead set, followed by the couple - they bother me too, but it is more of a distance thing than any technical fault.
So, there you go - take it FWIW (free advice is usually worth just about as much as you paid for it...)
Best of luck to you.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to run through it and give me some critiques. I'm going to look into changing some of them.

As far as making the images bigger, I would love to, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do this while still allowing it to look good on a laptop screen (which is close to 50% of my visits). Does anyone have advice on this, other than to make it a flash website?

Thanks again for the feedback! I'll post an update when i change some things.
