I am wondering "Why very less number of entries in the challenges for the last few months?". Is there any particular reason behind it?

I think there are more than one reason for this question.

1-Not much advertisement going on like used to
2-Getting a ribbon here is not that easy, people just give up
3-It's the slow season because of holidays, people are shopping and making arrangements
4-Other websites coming out
5-Most of us stop taking shower, so this place started to smell bad

6-I am out of hats :P

When my son was in kindergarten his teacher called to question me because my son told her he only took a bath on Sundays. I laughed and told her that was correct! He showered the rest of the week! ROFL! She kind of sputtered before she apologized and hung up.

that's so funny but kind of sad too, if you think about it.

I don't think I entered anything in November. I can give you my reasons.

1) never really had a idea, or "bonded" with any of the challenges
2) work has been pretty crazy the last couple of months, and Oct and Nov both suffered from it.

though I'm really ticked I didn't get a payphone shot, I have a couple of ideas I've always wanted to do with this one, but on the weekend when I had time to do it I got a nasty head cold and I just couldn't bring myself to take any photos.

I did finally do a few ideas for Motion Blur, but I think I'm going to get pounded in voting, so I may end up pulling it still trying to decide what to do there.

The world just isn't as nice and rosy as it was a couple of years ago when things were rocking along so smoothly.
That sort of takes the fun out of spending time working on getting a good average score or a little cyber-ribbon.
There are also a lot of other sites now that are photo oriented and competing for our net time, although, to me at least, it seems that DPC has the nicest and most family like group of users.
A phone booth is not that easy to find anymore, so that challenge was tough, and it got low head count. I had the location/ subject picked out as soon as I saw the challenge announced.
I have about given up on entering the more technical editing challenges, since I shoot so many photos that I don't take time to do that sort of editing. When I am too old to go out adventuring and shooting, maybe I can sit at the computer and edit and market the better shots..

Hmmm... Now I am getting some interesting reasons behind it. And one more thing.... I am not seeing our famous legends competing here any more. Are they tired of ribbons after ribbons?

Well. I have lost my mojo ! Not taken a single photo with my 7D since I came back of holiday early October.
It's not that I dont have time as I am not working. Just seem to have lost the urge lately. I hope it comes back soon !

No. They're tired of being told to photograph what others want. They're tired of seeing threads that complain about water drops and eye candy.

They're tired of hearing others say that their shots are mundane and have already been done.

I have more reasons but I think you get the drift.

Perhaps they are tired of photographing the water drops and eye candy that others want to see.

I got your point... But I have a question here, Is it wrong pleasing the viewer? or Photography is only for the photographer's satisfaction?

By the way, I have no second opinion about improving on creativity or new ideas. :)
