The problem is you kinda need to assume it was taken in the wild as it is pretty much impossible to tell during voting, unless you can see the cage in the shot.

Aye. If someone takes a zoo shot that looks perfectly natural, then whatever. It's not like it's going to be DQ'ed when the challenge is over. Heck, the photographer doesn't even need to SAY it was in a zoo if they don't want to. Not everyone has access to the "great outdoors", and I'd rather a zoo shot than a pigeon (no offense Melethia).

Blah, blah, blah "spirit of the challenge" and all that, but we should be realistic too.

WHAT????

I shall spend all my daylight non working hours in search of pigeons, just for you. :)

(I have very few non-working daylight hours, just so you know.)

Uhmm probably not...nor do shots of drunken clubgoers, entered under the title 'Wild Life'. They're talking every species except Homo Sapiens, ie us.

Oh crap! Wildlife challenge and I have a very busy week ahead as I'm trying to get loose end cleaned up before leaving town for a month. On top of that the weather is not the greatest at the moment; rain, wind, more rain. But I intend to squeeze in some time Wednesday, the only day forecast to be decent this week, cause I can't let a Wildlife Challenge go by without an entry! Even have a couple of ideas inb mind so now I just need to get lucky.

I will vote spiders and insects down. I rarely vote stuff down for DNMC... but really, folks. Just about the only thing (besides coffee pots) not included in the challenge description are spiders and insects.

There are insect challenges for those.

Just sayin'...

Taken a week too soon to try :-)

Ugh... I live in the country and I even went up to the mountains before sunrise and spent several hours. I did get some nice Fall shots but I didn't see any wildlife. My friend who lives in the city had a deer standing beside her car last night though. ???? Of course I did almost hit a large Buck on the way home tonight, in the dark with no camera. So no entry for me :(

Definitely a crisis in wilderness management.
