And I ordered PX 600 Silver Shade/First Flush just now.

I follow Joe Reifer's photography blog, and he just posted some old Polaroids that he found at Lake Berryessa in Northern California. They were left behind when the resort as "updated". Here's a LINK.

Check out the link to the Dark Resort project and from there follow the link to Joe's Lake Berryessa night photography project. (These last links have nothing to do with Polaroid (sorry), but they're interesting IMNSHO.

Thanks for the link. Great stuff to enjoy. I spent time at Lake Berryessa back in college (UC Davis). It's just North of Davis/Sacramento. The image of the girl putting up the rabbit ears behind the fish cracked me up.

I like the slow pace of this side challenge. Perfect.

It's here! The film that is. So I have this camera -- a Polaroid Sun 600 SE (50th anniversary edition!) that I got from a thrift store a month or so ago. Is there any maintenance or cleaning I should do to it before loading the film?

Also, I know nothing about this camera. It's fully automatic, right? The only control I see is a slider to (I'm guessing) under- or overexpose.

My film is PX600 Silver Shade, First Flush.

Leave the slider in the middle. Maybe swab the rollers with a q-tip. Get at it!

OMG...I found one of them (finally)! Going to go get film tomorrow and see what I can do.
I have a vintage (early 70's) polaroid somewhere, but cannot find it right now.Darn it!

You're right. I'm overthinking it. I was going to ask how do you focus the damn thing -- I think it's fixed focus, but more to the point, I think it doesn't matter.

Okay... This weekend!

Unfortunately the film is too pricey to let her go nuts, but she'll trade off mowing the lawn for a few frames! ;)

This color film is tough. As Deb mentioned, it get's better over 2-3 days. I think I have one worth posting from today, but I'm going to let it sit and cook.

Just wondering how you guys are posting these images. Are you scanning them?

Yes. (I think I speak for everyone.) I suppose you can photograph them too, but scanning would be more accurate/less tedious. As an aside, I find that the white frame is a good starting point for adjusting the white balance.

I have five shots left. I might invest in some color film too after seeing how go the remaining shots.

I always enjoy your comments, Johanna. Thanks for dropping in!
