Not a 5.9er (this violin's extra tiny) but I did just miss a top 10 by 0.0009. |

I had missed this thread earlier so I am late for the train.
I had 17 entries for 2010 I have just one in the 5.9 category that had played in the low, low 6's but dropped in the last few votes; the scrubber didn't get it over the hill.
Still very happy with the photo and the mood captured
Score: 5.9510 |

I only have one entry for 2010 and it broke the 6 barrier:
But in 2009 this was the closest I got:
I'm happy with both entries, hope to get more near sixes - and over - this year!
Edited to add score: 5.9560

I fell in love with this shot. It started off very low and almost made it past the peak. Then dropped down a bit. It never did see the 6 mark.

I had 3 in 2010. They all were over 6 and just couldn't make it back. 2010 was a good year. I think DPL was large part of it.

I checked about two minutes before the closing of the recent sentinel challenge and it stood at 6.02 and I shut down my laptop and bragged to my wife that I got my first 6. The next morning I checked to see how far down it placed...
... it finished at 5.9850 |

ooh! Can we play the 1812 overture? Pretty please? I know the violin part. :)
(actually, I do know the violin part. It was a blast to play.)

Danced the line with this all week. I was hoping to finish above a six. I was warned that studio portraits with white backgrounds don't do well, so I actually felt pretty good about this score. |

A positive story - was under 6 all the time during voting and in the last minute someone really nice must have given it a 10 as it jumped just over. I didn't even noticed till I looked at my profile later - WOW, where did this 6 come from? :)
BUT this one was exactly opposite:
was over 6 all the time and went under in the last minutes. Someone gave it a 2 just before turnover :( |

A more likely explanation for the jump to over 6 is that some lower votes got "scrubbed" during rollover. Ditto, for higher votes in the second instance.
