The photo is still on the front page, looks like it may have made it validation, would you like some ketchup on your cap...:P

Dont forget the picture!! Cause I do believe this one is going to be validated!

I have my doubts... In look at the other images shown on his site. There is one that's pretty much the same exact pose, with the veil draped almost exactly the same. But if you look at the texture of the veil, the grain runs vertically in one shot and horizontally in the other.

shot 1 shot 2

I'm really hoping that it's just the sharpening that did that, however. Because it's beautiful and deserves 1st.

IF it gets DQ'd, it will be highly disappointing for David who will be denied showing up on the front page for a Free Study which is still a particular honor on this site. It used to be that validations occurred much faster.

"And if appointed to SC, I promise to single-handedly (or is that unilaterally?) validate (or invalidate, as the case may be) every image within 30 minutes of its original being submitted."

(Offer valid only within the hours of 8AM to Midnight, DPC time)

Nothing fancy about it, just ridiculized.

Is this over yet? Is there a way to get that texture on the photo without adding a texture? If there is, I hope the photographer shares his secrets.

The only way I can see this being a legit photo is if all his other ones that don't show the texture had the texture "erased" and left it on his DPC entry. (This is a real possibility)

Has any of the others been validated?

Lens cap soup is on hold for now.

I was going to ask for the recipe for lens cap soup, but I can't find my spare caps, so I guess you can skip sending it.

When I look at the ones without texture they look more like the texture may have been there but was selectively blurred, but without looking at the original it is hard to say.

I would think the decision should have been made by now so it may be time to bust a cap in your gut.....lol

Shoot through a very fine piece of net fabric?

That's some magic fabric. It knows not to show the texture on the face. I guess he could have "erased" it over the face but that would be a DQ also.

I don't know if anybody doubts it is an overlay, but if someone needs proof you can see it by looking at a highly sharpened version. Note the overlay travels in perfect lines across the muslin, skin, and background material on the right and then jumps onto her skin on the left.

It seems like an open and shut case, but I wonder if the debate is whether this qualifies as added "noise" which has been allowed. I think this may be a possible reason for the delayed ruling. If it isn't, and this gets DQ'd I would think Langdon needs to take a serious look at the current timeframe for DQs like this.

I don't like drama and that's why I constantly avoid having to validated my work by staying out of the top 5 on a ritually constant basis. Hell I'm usually so careful I make sure to stay out of the top 50 in most cases.

I wanted to give the benefit of doubt since I had not seen the original but the over sharp version really does show a texture and I have to admit it looks like it should not be legal.

heheh, the SC aren't validating it yet, because it's already being validated here. They can just wait for the results to be determined in this thread. :D
