I put together some maps & directions for those who may need it. On one side is an overview map of the D/FW Metroplex, showing about where the places we are going are located. On the other side are some zoomed in street maps and directions. I'll have some printed copies of this for Saturday morning. Check the group PM for my mobile number if you think you may want to have it.

Saturday morning meetup is 0730 at Denny's, at 7120 S COCKRELL HILL DALLAS, TX 75236 (location #2 on the linked map)

Love, to find the museums, look at the map for Ol' South. From I-30, go North on University drive about a mile and when you see the geodesic dome of Casa Manana, the cultural district is all in that area. The Kimbell, Modern and Amon Carter are all in row just one street north of there. You can find the museum of science & history, and the cowgirl museum a block to the west of Casa Manana.

Ok, Taco's started and spaghetti's almost done. How many names are in the pot for Friday Night? Sunday Night?

My part of the entertainment is as follows: For Friday night, Tacos and Chicken Enchilada's rice and beans for dinner. Meet and greet beginning about 5:30. We will have some drinks and such but if you want something special, feel free to add it to the mix. Playing with cameras will probably happen and then closing up for an early night will be a must.

AFter all the activity on Saturday, choosing up a cozy and COOL place to relax will be BIG on my list of things I want to do. All are welcome to hang out here but I'm not planing on cooking. Ordering Pizza or eating locally is always a possibility for dinner. Doing your own thing is totally ok too though.

Sunday night: Spaghetti, Salad and my special Italian bread. Maybe a bit of laundry if I didn't get it done earlier and having fun looking over all that's been shot over the weekend. I do have to go to work on Monday but don't go to bed very early so it will be fun to have friends in the house to keep me entertained. Anyone who is still here is totally welcome to come chill. I might even manage something sweet as a surprise for after dinner.

Monday Morning: Off to work for me and rise and shine for anyone wanting to do an early morning shoot. We have some great places for you guys to choose from for an early morning shoot with Steve. Poor baby isn't going to get to sleep in all weekend. Ya'll have to make sure he's awake and having enough fun for both of us since I don't get to go or get to sleep in.

If you are heading home on Sunday, sorry you're then, we'll miss you at dinner. Don't want to over plan the weekend but also don't want to under plan things. So if I can do anything else to make your trip more fun, please let me know.

Ellen

I won't make it guys.. when I commited all was well. Since then, I have been laid off my job of 7 years, and moved to Lubbock where most of my family lives. I'm now persuing self employment =/ (tired of having a boss look over my shoulder) wish me luck =)

Sorry to hear about your job and wish you all the best luck on starting up your own business. The potential blessing in all this is that it brought you back to Lubbock and your family.

I posted about our GTG in the DFW meetup group on Flickr, and we will likely have a few of those folks joining us for all or part of the day. Looks like we'll have a nice sized crowd for this.

I'll probably be at work until somewhere around 1400, if you are passing through sometime after that give me a buzz. I'm not sure what time we are getting on the road to San Antonio.

For all who attended, great meals, great fellowship and great shots were had by all. Had a fun day and hopefully will have some shots up for viewing soon. Only hold up for that is I'M TIRED. Tomorrow looks like another fun but less packed day. Steve did an awesome job in planning this gtg.

Thanks to all who attended for adding enough DPCers I have met to give me a second line. YEAH!!! I had so much fun despite being pretty tired at the end of the day. We will have to do it again next year. I haven't managed to get pictures up yet but hopefully will have some time now that I"m off work to do the dishes from dinner that whoever didn't come missed out on. It was really good.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys get posted from the get together.
