Adam already has dibs on the guest room. We could let a couple of people sleep in the bathtub.

I called Willy DeRidder at DeRidder Antiques yesterday, and she said (as I knew) she would be happy to have us out there. She said she'll even have some snacks and refreshments for us. She did ask me to give her an approximate head count, so those who are in for DeRidder, please let me know.

I would also like to be able to bring her some prints at a later date, so I'll be asking those who attend to please send me a printable version of their favorite photo taken there.

Let me know and we can ride together if you want to - or maybe share a room?

I'd suggest somewhere along Interstate 20 on the south side of the metroplex might be a good place to look for a motel. Look around the Grand prairie, Arlington South Ft. Worth and Duncanville areas. Those won't be terribly far from the airshow in Lancaster for Saturday morning. The North Dallas area (such as Plano, Richardson, Frisco) is going to be WAY out of the way and I would NOT suggest anyone staying up that way.

There should be maps and location info in the links I posted earlier. I'll try to have some handouts with information that I can post as a PDF here and have some on hand Saturday morning.

Might also be a good idea to exchange some phone numbers in advance. Do that through the PM thread, however. I wouldn't dare post my cellphone # in a publicly readable thread.

I prefer to live vicariously by trying to take photos from the top of the parking garage in Sundance Square before the rentacops chase me off.

I've got to attend a birthday party on Saturday in Long Vegas (Longview TX). If I get home at a reasonable time Saturday night, I might drive in Sunday.

A great little vineyard named Enoch's Stomp has opened near Longview.

Let me know if anyone ever gets over to East Texas, we can have lunch, drink wine and shoot vineyard photos.

It's hard to believe but when sitting outside at Enochs Stomp sipping a glass of port wine it looks like the Tuscan region - really!!

I went to the website and it looks nice. I think Marge and I will have to go over some weekend. Would you, or anyone else nearby, want to join us for a glass of wine if there is enough notice?

Ken...let us know and Kettle & I will be glad to meet you there. Maybe we can set up an afternoon in late September or October!

Anyone else interested? Caddo Lake & Jefferson TX are nearby.

Once we finish with DFW, I'd definitely be in for and E. TX wine GTG! Sounds like lots of fun!

End of October works for me, Steve and I will be on vacation at the beginning of the month. We're going to Abq to see my daughter and look at just a few balloons, (the big ones not the little ones)

I'm really excited about seeing them and my girl. Can't believe that she's a happily married woman and not a newlywed anymore. It's been over a year since I've seen here.

Still working on getting free for the GTG for Labor Day weekend, not much success yet, but working on it.

A quick check of dates for a WINE GTG would be on Saturday ( 9 Oct). I'll start another thread after a little research.

I'm still hoping for a change in schedule to come to the DFW GTG.

We'll look for Ken's thread on Wine GTG in East Texas later. I can help with organization if you would like!

So, do we know who for sure is going to be here for this? I"m looking forward to meeting the members I've not yet hung out with and to see the old friends I have shot with.
I'll be solo on Saturday, so ...

I'll be there...LOL

I'll look over the thread and get a rough count of the "for sures" Offhand, it looks like about 10 or so that are for certain coming, and a few more folks that need to obtain a weekend pass.
