Discuss the amber elixir here!

What's your favourite beer, and where's it from?

Well, I like it

I tend to be a quantity rather than quality guy and admit I drink more lager than beer. Best pint ever? probably Sharps bitter (Cornwall) followed by Thigstons Best (Yorkshire).

If anyone's ever in Sydney, head down the coast a bit to Wollongong to the Five Islands Brewery.
Have the "Rust". brilliant.

Otherwise, an amber ale, porter or stout will do me fine.

Still have to say Guinness.
By the way...the Ft Collins (CO) Brewfest is this weekene of the 26th and 27th! I am there and shooting pics...and raising a few , too!! Anyone near the area, should come on in. It is quite entertaining, not to mention all the great microbrewers to try out. See ya there.

There's a serious lack of Old Chi's East of the Mississippi. :) I miss Old Chicago! *sniffle*

I wonder if I can move all the cool DC stuff to Colorado Springs...

Bah! How can you be from Colorado and not drink Fat Tire? It's against the state constitution! Really. Go look. :)

Theakston's 'Old peculiar', now there's a beer to get excited about. Also 'Old Speckled Hen' and Timothy Talylor's 'Landlord'.

Sorry but I think you have to appreciate the subtleties of non-chilled real ale to like these beauties.

I can vaguely remember the last time I drank beer...it was way back in college in the late 80's when the local bar would have "nickel beer" night and we'd have longnecks all night for under a buck. I hated beer, but for a nickel, who could refuse? Now I can't even get past the smell of it! ;o)

Pyramid Apricot is delicious for special occasions.

I like Fat Tire, too, but you know, it's just a mediocre beer. Sort of like Colorado's football team. Go Huskers. :)

Well I am a true Budweiser man, but I do really like Moosehead and Bass ale.

I like to try a lot of different microbrews as often as I can as well.

Jack Daniel's brewed some fine beers, 4 different varieties I believe, a few years back, but have since quit. The were quite strong and very tasty.

I have even brewed my own beer with a good success and am looking to get back into it again after a few years of not brewing.

The best place on earth is the Sole Bay Inn in Southwold, Suffolk, UK. There are no exceptions to this rule.

I make my own beer so I'm of course partial to those. Waiting for consumption I have a Sweet Stout (very similar to Sam Adams Cream Stout), a Saison, a California Common, an American Amber, a Scottish Heavy 70, a Barleywine (modeled after Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot), an American Wheat, and a Kölsch-style ale.

When I'm out and about I like various beers. For session drinking I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It's one of the few beers you can find everywhere and be sure it's going to have a high enough turnover to be fresh. Rogue's Stout is good when you can find it. Lagunitas IPA is pretty good. Maredsous 10 is alway refreshing. If you can find it that is. If I were to be allowed only one beer for the day that would be the one I would want.

I'm with aussie 100%
