4.2 ? No way ...

Way?

I have seen your pictures and they are great so since I have a 3.95 mine must be alsmost as good as yours! Hooray for me!

Kidding aside, a lot of people are complaining of low scores. I have had one comment and he remarked that the graphics were good and he scored mine 2.

I like mine well enough so it doesn't matter. Time will tell.

Yes way. The voting seems unusually harsh on the Desaturation challenge. I expected 6+, and I'm trying to cling to a 5. Better luck next time Kosta!

i think there won't be anyone over 7 this time.

DPC is like a box of chocolates :P

I am scoring low, but that is not unusual for me!! But the weird thing is, I gave the highest round of scores I ever have to the de-sats. I am out of sync as always, taste-wise. I think the de-sats are amazingly good for the most part and have really enjoyed them! So those 7 - 10's are from me!!

Remember - most of DPC doesn't like much use of de-sat in the first place. So I am actually scoring low in good company for once!!

After reading your posts I can't really complain about my shot doing 5.1+. I too thought it might do slightly better, at least in 5.5+ to 5.8+ range.

I keep getting broadsided all the time. When I think it'll bomb, it does well. When I think it'll do well, it bombs. Just goes to show that I can in now way read the voters here.

Hey dogman. At least you can work with that.
When I think it will do well, it bombs. When I think it will bomb, it bombs. Can't win.
I am still having fun!

I fit into that "nut" profile!
Hanging out in the drunk photog's gallery finally paid off. I'm beating you, Pitbullman. 4.48...woo hoo

The way things are going lately, I'm thinking you must have entered an interesting shot to get this kind of score.

I have given my lowest scores in this challenge. It is selective desaturation and being mainly interpreted as selective desaturation with colorization. Yet there are many super shots.

Your score is a pity,man.

Well,my score is low too, which is not that unusual, but only comment I got is -"What were you thinking when you entered this challenge?"

And nobody ever complained about my thinking skills...
06/21/2004 02:30:46 PM · #18
I have been known to think from time to time, but in this case, I thought I was following the idea on the challenge, "Highlight one or more elements in your photograph by converting the surrounding areas to grayscale".

I did that and after looking at the other pictures, so did everyone else. Could someone please clear this up for me so I don't make this mistake again?

What exactly do you mean by desaturation with colorization?

I got that comment too! Shame on me for foisting such a mediocre image on that viewer--apparently, I'm cold and heartless for not thinking of his sensibilities. I feel so inferior to his great wisdom. (But at least I'm not alone....)
06/21/2004 02:54:10 PM · #24
Hmmm I did not get that comment, is that good or bad?
06/21/2004 02:56:49 PM · #25
Reply to Steve. The object is to retain the original color value and to desaturate the remainer, not to desasurate and then introduce a new color.
