if it is that good of a shot, or you really, really like it, and you didn't get to enter the "vanish" challenge, put it in free study

(not in response to art's post, he posted while i was composing)

I know it cost some people some time and yeah that can be crappy but what I'm trying to say is that it can always be worse.

Yeah i wasnt able to get my sock off so i severed my foot for the shot.

Hows that for worse

I enjoy a joke, but there is a limit. Some people went out and took a shot for the Vanish speed challenge, only to be told that it doesn't matter any more cos there is a new, longer speed challenge now. That isn't funny!

Dang dude. What about the "turning the other cheek" sermon you preached to us this week?

Well Langdon, it looks like next year you should take the entire site offline for the entire day of April 1st. Seems some folks are just a wee bit sensitive, eh? :)

The more I think about it the more this annoys me. I had company for dinner, lots to do, and I made time to go to the store(s) for supplies and had a shot all planned out. Logged in after guests gone home to double-check the special rules while setting up my shot, and the challenge was gone....

This seems a little extreme to me, sorry....

Heh 1 dont make me pull the card we discussed last month

2 - You know what it is

3 - You probly have them turned off which no SC member or Admin should. Why? because youd want to moderate peoples signatures for content!

You are correct. I have them turned off. (They're vanished, hhah). Why? I'm on dial up and it seems that a small portion of members like to do these graphics thingys or show oodles of their portfolio pictures in their signature line. Text is cool. Pictures are not. slows things waayyyyyyyyyyy down for me (as if it is not slow enough as it is).

That said, when the content gets "out of hand" someone will report post or open a ticket about it, and I can take a look then, IF the others on SC haven't seen it already.

I only said that because you mentioned your signature a couple of times and I was gently reminding you that not everyone can see your signature. :)

Based on current actions, I'd say we might be too late to stop you from resorting to crack.

Yeah well when dial up stops existing and high speed becomes federally regulated (down in price), the world will be a better place.

Heh had phone lines ever been deregulated dialup could have gotten alot faster. But since they would not deregulate the systems, DSL took over the concept. And theres also cable like i have. (T1,T3, yada yada)

I cant stand to even do a web search using dialup much less any other task. In fact im so used to 6 meg cable DSL pisses me off at my moms.

Here in the united states theyve been pushign to require all areas to have broadband acces the government would benifit from this connectivity along with the people.

Make Dialup Vanish!

I dunno how it works, so I could be wring, but I think that's the case, so it might be worth distributing your votes just a little.

Oh crap, now I got to go change all those votes. It'll take me forever. And yes, you are wring. Whatever the hell that is....

LOL

I agree and so do a lot of others and I had my shot all ready to be uploaded. But it seems WE don't matter!!!! How's that for treating your paying members? I think it royally sucks and I am not being childish about this.

It appears the on image that I gavce a 1 to, even thought it was a 9 quality image that clearly DNMC has self DQ'd.

There seems to be only 10 images left. How may will there be at the end?

It's going to be the first challenge without enough entries to have 3 ribbons to hand out :)

Umm they said there was not gonna be any ribbons due to the circumstances.

FWIW, afaik red blue and yellow ribbons are not going to be awarded for this challenge due to the circumstances. Its all just for a bit of fun :)

Wouldn't it be funny if one of the entries outscores Langdon's pool shot?

ETA: oh wait, nevermind.

@rain: That would be really lame, I think the ones who entered should be remunerated for having entered. They should at least get the same ribbons as the ones awarded for the Rubber Ducky Challenge.

Noone said there would be no ribbons :)
