When I joined DPC a few weeks ago I posted a photo that had many constructive comments. I'm posting it again here along with an updated version, using the ideas you all have passed on to me. I believe it is an improvement. I would really appreciate your thougts and comments, especially where it can be improved. I've also included another shot from the same shoot. Thanks so much!

My opinion is that these versions are both significant improvements over the original, which was already a well composed photo of an interesting subject. The exposure is very hard to get right in this photo without some help from bracketing or maybe a graduated neutral density filter, but I think this is about as well as you could have done in a single shot. Thanks for taking the critiques to heart and posting these updates.
