If the weather doesn't break by then dress code is gonna be shirts and skins. Yeeish.

So does this mean that you are actually going to come, and not be a figment of our imaginations?

Pretty much anything should be ok, with two exceptions:

1. Our dinner host, Steve (mcrochip), is allergic to nuts. Please do not bring anything that contains them (peanuts are ok, all other nuts are not).

2. Steve also keeps a semi (but only semi) kosher kitchen. Generally this means he won't cook anything that couldn't be kosher. Generally speaking, avoid bringing shellfish, pork, or anything containing both meat and milk. If you're not sure, PM mcrochip to check if it's ok.

The way things are going at work I'll probably be a figment. But I still admire and appreciate all the organizational work you, and others, are putting into this gig.

Should I drive or fly in? Would car be any use during the meeting or we'll just travel on foot?

Given where you're coming from, and (if you plan on coming to dinner on Friday) where you're going... I'd say drive on down. This also depends on where you are staying while you're in the DC area, as many places require that you drive to the Metro. If there's any specific questions, please ask me or Clara (Blemt).

Well I am not sure if I am going to make it, kind of crazy for me right now but in a good way. I got a job offer and they want me to come at the end of the month to talk about the position kind of a second interview if u want to call it that. But my current job wants me to stay and they also want to have another meeting with me around the same time when everyone is in the office. So...... wow I am not sure if I can be there... but I really want to go and have brought everything so far for the trip so if I can make it, I will let you know towards the end of the month... before we all leave of course.

Does anyone know checkout time at Hyatt?

The reason I'm asking is if we shoot all night and I go back hotel at 4-5AM and I have to check out at 10AM next day I may not be in condition to do anything next day. Especially drive back to NY.

The t-shirt has been designed, and the design will be submitted for printing shortly. I need to know if you are interested in a shirt. The cost will be $10, and I plan on ordering XL size. Please respond to this posting, or PM Mcrochip so I can count you in the order.

Thank you,

We are making the final reservations for dinner and for t-shirts! T-shirts have been designed by our own muckpond and will be $10. We need to know by midnight if you are planning on being there for dinner on Saturday, and if you want a shirt. Post to the thread so we can keep track. DO NOT PM me right now, since I won't have access to my email tonight. :)

Dinner on Saturday is the bridge into all the festivities. Right now we have:

ClubJuggle
di
shutterfly
Rich
mcrochip
crabappl3
muckpond

Nope... Friday night dinner is gathering at my house - a meet and greet, get welcomed and such. Saturday night dinner will be at Pizzaria Uno in Washington's Union Station. After dinner will be the start of night shooting, since it won't be dark till then.

Ahh....o.k. Then add me and hubby to the list. (In fact, add us to all applicable lists as we're planning on attending all possible events.)

My husband and I will be there for dinner Saturday night and for the following photo op's.

Are we giving sizes for the t-shirts? My hubby and I are not small people! 2x for me and 3x for him would work.
07/20/2005 11:56:27 AM · #318
1 t-shirt, size small
1 saturday night dinner, size large

we'l need blank ones too for those that show up

I vote everyone has to wear nametags the whole weekend with at least first name and username.

I think I still have semi-official nametag artwork from my first GTG at the Bronx Zoo.

I make name tags for events where I work. If I have the list of names, I could make them up. Pin-on plastic holders with (I promise) pretty lettering and graphics. It's an easy thing for me to do and I think it would be a benefit to those of us who are "name challenged".
