ARG! I've been planning for a whole week for my Fairy Tale shoot. AND IT RAINS!!!! This is an outrage! I'M so frustrate...

Anyone else just seen its shoot ruined 'cause of weather? Especially on a tight schedule!?

Yup. :) I took a very deep breath, exhaled and then started playing around with a mock studio setup. Ended up placing 59th on that challenge. :)

Check the forecast, look for breaks in the weather. And realize that the rain might give you a better shot.

It happened to me in my second challenge but I think it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I scored a lot higher than my first challenge. I'm planning on doing my next challenge photograph on Sunday and the weather forecast isnt great but I'm staying positive.

Heida's shots are all dreary and grey with vivid colors in the costumes or clothing or sunset, and she always places very well because it's beautiful to see nature at that stage... use the dark, dreary sky to your advantage... like the "nothing" has taken over your "fantasia" and just capture what you can! :)

I live in rain forest country. If I didn't take pictures in the rain, I'd end up with a portfolio like Kiwi or Jacko. :-)

I took part in a local 24-hour shooting challenge last week and the weather bit all day. Lots of haze, so you couldn't taken any landscape type shots and the sky was covered in high fog / thin clouds that had no shape or form and would make for super white blown out skies. Bummed me out so much that I spent over four hours walking around to get inspired and returned home with less than 30 shots, all of them pretty mediocre.

And lately, we've been having nice sunsets after a mostly crummy summer, but I'm too busy with work to take advantage of them.

HOWEVER, I'm going to a weeklong K9 seminar and plan to shoot all types of police and customs dogs doing their thing. Should be interesting.

The rain was a blessing for my shoot, where I was, it was 44 degrees. I love the dark clouds.
