thank you heida, likewise. I see the mess now...crap....I really love this shot too....perhaps, I can return to re-shoot it cleaner....if I'm not to late and those weeds are still there. Good in pointing that out. :) |

i didnt vote on it, but i dont think i would have given anything high on it. it just doesnt have anything appealing to it... the idea is good, but it could have been illustrated better |

I think I'll be debateing wither or not to re-shoot it....I like to live and learn and move on....keeping this as is, so there is a record of progress as other future shots are made better from this shot. However, personally...I love the abtractness and the negitive spaceing it provides....well, see? Perhaps I'll give it some "dark moody clouds" to enhance it. :)) |

Hmmm, perhaps a portrait shot instead, and focusing on the larger branches and closer I think....I don't know, this shot is going to bug me for some time...it's missing something and I don't know what it is...color? Perhaps a single colored flower growing a mist the dead. Maybe, just maybe a nude chic in there somewhere...hee-Hee...That should make it appealing! :) Hmmmm, now how can I translate this into the Fairy Tales Challenge....???

That is exactly what I was thinking, bring the right side over to the seam running down the wall. It is a natural frame and centers on what you want centered on. The image as it is is far too cluttered with a disordered array of random stems.
I would also like to see a reshoot, with attention given to providing better seperation between the wall and weeds.

:) funny....I might just have to sit out the fairy tale challenge, not my gig....nor was botany, or should say flowers...love to shoot trees in winter....However....I might add, after thinking this over all day today...I have came to conclusion on my "Wilt" photo....I'll try to re-shoot it today with the above ideas (it raining off and on today). Also, I feel why that I love this shot so much is that I dislike flowers shots, seems common, but won't over look a great photo of a flower...I just don't like photographing them that much. However, when I came across these dead stems along a white chipped paint wall in a deserted parking lot....and looked at it...it became something. Something I like in style of a photo, somewhat abstract. Far from photographing a flower. Moreover, I want to make those corrections and learn...I guess it called problem solving. Thank guys.

I was just passing by and thought I'd say Hi and add, I think I know what you feel/see in that shot. I like to take shots of the ground sometimes. There's something I can see, but most I show them to do not :} |

99% of the time shots get the score they deserve. Put that shot aside and come back to it in six months and it's almost guaranteed you pull a "Oh my gawd, what was thinking?" moment.

Again, thank you much...I re-shot it yesterday, but cleaned it up a little from extra stems lying around...Looks better...However, I still like it too...just one of those photo that people may not enjoy, but you just love..Glad to hear that you and a few other enjoy it....One more thing about this photo...it's moody and barren, dry....I guess I relate to it because I sometimes feel that way...I sometimes have found that my photos somehow refect a mood I'm in or how I have felt before...Perhaps I'm becoming a liveing composite of my own photographs...Ohhh, that's deep...ouch...thanks again... |

Well, may be for this site...However, I have seen much mundane shot as this, or should say, like this type of composition where it would sell and has been sold up in the 10 thousand dollar range...I guess it works and loved by others...However, I do understand about looking at a photo 6 months later from now and thinking the same...I know, I have many that are like that..that's because of improvements made with a camera, or your emotions have changed since that period when that photo was taken...many ways that one can feel like saying "Oh my gawd, what was thinking?"...However, there are a few shots I have made and they still stick with me and feel the same as I did the day I shot the photo, even over a year ago...This photo is one of them! Again, like I have heard and said myself..."you can't please everyone"....that's not my goal....an impossible vision....Just a possible vision of seeking better skills and becoming just a better photographer....Perhaps one day, I'll find and shoot another photo that will rate higher personally than like this one....that's fine too. Yet, I do believe it will stay with me....as a few other photos I have kept in my "top ten list".... |
