I am reaching out to the collective experts at Dp for some help. I am trying to resize a photo I took from a 7 x 5.45 to a 7 x 5 to fit into a template. Everytime I use free transform it looks distorted. Any suggestion, as I am rather frustrated at this point. Thank you in advance, Tammy

You're not going to be able to without distorting it. The best you can do is check the constrain checkbox, then add borders to the top & bottom of the 7" side.

i dont know about Photoshop, but gimp had a plugin that would resize an image without distorting it. it depends on your image, but it somehow stretches the unimportant area and keeps the important part proportional. i thought this was supposed to make it into Photoshop.

i can seem to find any info on it.

I'm using an older version of PS, so I don't know what the newer ones might have. What's the plugin called in gimp?

Can you just set the crop tool to 7x5 and crop?

I end up with empty space on either side. I cant crop down too much or I lose some body parts.

PTLens may allow you to make the changes you desire.
