Yes, that's right, TI
I have and still use a 1985 TI Professional Comp. Basic and its companion monitor and printer...tractor type. Cost me about 6k new plus 20k for the MDSI machine tool software I still occasionally use.

The problem is, the monitor is failing and I can't find another. I can still read it but probably not much longer. I did manage to find a printer and got it for only 50$

If anyone has one of these old dinosaurs I would be interested. I have the software and can reload. Unfortunately, it was only written to work on the TI equipment.

I know, I can get new stuff cheap but one guy is comfortable and fast wit what he has used 25 years.

Thanks, David

Don't have one....but what memories come back! Good luck in finding the parts, its definitely worth to keep it running. :)

What does the connection between the computer and monitor look like? It's probably too early for it to be the "standard" 9 pin analog connection, but there were other contemporary computers and perhaps it uses something that was common to others? For example, my AT&T PC6300 from that same year appears to use a 25-pin d-sub connector, with a few pins depopulated.
Another approach, if the phosphor on the CRT is giving up but the driving electronics are still OK, perhaps the tube itself could be replaced?

I can't remember, does the TIPC use a composite video signal? If so, a cheap LCD TV (or other TV with AV inputs) could likely be used as the monitor by hooking into the video in jack, since it would require no RF modulation.

I had a TI 99/4A for my first computer when everyone else was buying the commodedoor 64's. Loved that thing. I can't offer any advice on this problem, but wishing you luck with your quest.

TI 99/4A

I had Atari 800 XL. I actually start learning Basic with that computer.

Found this image of the backside of the TIPC... seems to have both a DE-9 and an RCA composite output - second slot from the left. I'm guessing a CGA graphics card, which are compatible with NTSC monitors and televisions.

A TV with a AV (or game) input) will work as a monitor, by plugging an RCA cord into the RCA jack on the video card and video input on the television.

Another option is to use standard video monitors, such as those used by security cameras. However, many will require an RCA to BNC adapter, which can be bought for about $5.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm off until Monday so my checking will wait until then. I don't remember the RCA....hope there is one. The d9 I think has 3 rows..(d15 ?). It is a color monitor if that means anything. The printer came in as I was leaving yesterday. It looks good but I didn't try it yet.
I probably should just force the guy to learn new stuff :)

Thanks, Happy New Year ooooooo>>>>>>David
