First we noticed it!

Then we killed it. Do not ever try to smash this baby carriage. They will go everywhere. Any insect killer will work.

ROFLMAO! LOL - that was truly enjoyable (especially after that nasty Bush/USA troops thread). Very satisfying - thank you! LOL

Sell that macro lens!!! Sell the damn thing and hope you don't have nightmares.

Those are some amazing shots. Well #3 a bit gory. You pictures shows why I dislike spiders. For some reason I fear them more than wild snakes. BTW nice macro.

my wife only lets me kill roaches and mosquitoes, any other creepy crawly gets "rescued". Meaning she grabs them up and takes them out side.

I will pick up most bugs but NOT spiders, I make my wife wrangle the spiders out the door...bleck :P

OMG I think I am swelling up just looking at that. I am allergic. I hope I don't have nightmares now. Great shots BTW.

Looks like a type of wolf spider we found in Montana once. They carry their young on their back until they are old enough to take off on their own. Big scary things, you did the right thing. :)

Loves Spiderman, can live without the spider itself

you shouldnt kill spiders, they eat mosquitos. I mean, unless you like having bug bites all over you.

Hmmm.
Mosquito bite = Itchy two days.
Spider Bite = Rotting flesh and incredible pain for a month.
KILL THE BIG UGLY MONSTERS!

Ew EW EW EW EW!!!!! Yuck! Kill those suckers! The only thing that freaks me out more than ugly spiders is snakes! I have shivers going up my spine now. (I'm very allergic to bites.)

Hope you used a very long lens for that shot!

I stepped on one once in my house and a zillion of those things just went everywhere. I was freaked out.

I found some ant spray and got most of 'em.

Still have nightmares.

I've very arachnaphobic. I had a whole family of spiders living in my new house and my friend decided to look them up on the web to prove to me that they weren't poisonous so I shouldn't be afraid - turns out they were a very poisonous type called the yellow sac spider. Ugh. I thought I had killed them all and then one day I noticed a bunch of tiny spots on one wall... there were hundreds of babies crawling all over the wall. I'm creeped out even thinking of it now. I'm sorry to all the spider lovers, but I sprayed them all with poison and then smashed them for good measure. Too creepy to think of hundreds of poisonous spiders all over my house.

Same here, except I swatted one on the wall and boy was I not prepared for the aftermath, lol.
I'm not even afraid of spiders, but when they suddenly multiply that can weird out anyone!

Now Mice, thats another story, I get the willies just thinking about them! (If I whacked one of them and babies started running all over I'd need CPR, actually I nearly require CPR just at the sight of a mouse in the vicinity of me)

Even not being afraid of spiders, I swat them unless they're GrandDaddy Long Legs, I've liked them since I was a kid, so I make no sense. I'm quick to "rescue" any arachaphobes though with a quick stomp :)

yeah my girlfriend will take them outside, but i'll have nothing to do with that. if one crosses my path i get rediculously overexcited and start swatting all over the place.

OMG, that is not cute. Unless of course its going down the throat of a snake or something, lol. Ewwwww, gives me the willies. You know I've scored mouse photos high on here based on if they give me the willies or not. I figure if its real enough to weird me out, then its a good photo :)

Oddly enough, I can see them in a pet store and even allowed my son to have them as pets before, but it's situational. I can't handle one running wild in my house(and yes its happened on more than one occasion, we live near big fields and I think that increases the odds) and if there are too many in a cage at a pet store just running all over it bugs me. A local pet store often has these big white rats that are all spastic and running all over like a big rat blanket. ackkkkkkkkkk, oh gawddddd I hate that.

Just last week, I came home and my cats had a dead one on the livingroom floor, I tried to cover it up and the cats would keep knocking the basket I had on it, off. Then they would pick it up and fling it in the air, etc. and relocate it, it was totally freaking me out. I called my husband at work and left a message sharing my horror, lol. He emailed me a note that said "I'll be home at 3:00 to get you down from the kitchen table". He and my kids know how much I hate them. One of our five year olds swept it up and took it outside for me when they got home from school, lol. (I don't like to get close enough to the dead ones to sweep them up even)

"Ooh, a big spider. Lets kill it."

What a jerk. It's pathetic ignorance like that gets humans a bad name.

I second the notion.

I was bit by a spider about 2 years ago and got so sick for a couple days that I had to go to the hospital to get medicine. (that I went to a doctor is saying a lot)Does that mean I would squash a spider. Hardly. I pick them up and put them outside. If there is a poisonous snake in my yard, most times if I am able to catch him (her) I relocate the creature. I would especially never kill something after it had the courtesy to pose for me.

Fleas and ticks on the other hand cannot live.

And I third it.

How ignorant can people be... so sad to see.

And I was actually thinkng about leaving you a comment. Amazing pic the first one was.
Too bad your pathetic ignorance had ruined it.

I fourth it! Wolf spiders are one of the maost beneficial spiders you can have. They eat crickets among other insects. They hardly bite humans either...pick on brown recluses, they have the bite that decomposes your skin.

im glad i wasnt the only one disgusted by this post - i was it yesterday and everyone going hahalets kill spiders and my opinion of dpers dropped a few notches.

Ive been bitten by snakes and spiders both - i'd rather it than a cat scratch. Just put a cup over it and take it outside if you dont want them in the house.

If they are outside I will not kill them, but if they are inside where I have my children sleep you morons, they will die. Kind of like if you broke into my house you would die, because my family is in danger, especially since I live in Texas.
