Moving away from my safe zone of flowers/nature shots.

I love it! I've never seen wire like that...but you must realize, that the unusual types of pictures seem to agree with me! It has movement and color and a lot of interest in the wire projections.

My thoughts, my eye wants a broader focus....or an object to draw my focus. If there was a piece of string, or leaf caught in that closest part of the wire I'd like it more.

I'd consider changing the focus point to the center wire (top left to bottom right) See if you can get that entire strand in focus and have the orbiting/wrapping wire blur in and out of focus as it goes around the central axis wire.

Great experimentation though...stick with it. I am tired of flowers.... *lol*

Please keep in mind that I'm a rank amateur, but here goes... Interesting concept. Great clarity on the bottom turn of the concertina wire, but having so much more of the wire (&barbed wire) out of focus is a little on the distracting side. Perhaps focusing on the top turn where it meets the barbed wire would produce a more balanced shot. Did you consider a different angle in order to catch more of the 'razors' on the concertina? Love the intensity of the sky. I like the lines made by the wires. And I agree with dargonlady about the movement and interest in the projections.

I quite like it, although the empty sky on the left makes for a little too much dead space for me. Have you tried a squarer crop?

did you use a polarizer ?

Razor wire...challenging. I think the focus should have been on the lighted razors edge rather than the foreground where the light is soft, you have a subject begging for cutting sharp and its softened by the dim light. I would have gone for the soft focus up front and knife edge focus on the glinting razor in the back...My 2c

I really like the arc that is in focus - its shape, and detail. The part that is not in focus seems less pleasant. You are lucky enough to have an SLR, so you can stop it down to f/22 or perhaps more. And perhaps you can use a short focal length to help deepen DOF. Not certain the diagonal wire adds much.

I attempted somthing slightly similar recently with mixed results: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=161111 . Had to use bright lights and some tricks to fool the camera.
