Hi... during my photoshoot for the In the Beginning challenge I came up with these photos.
I decided not to enter, but would LOVE if you can let me know what you think.
I didn't do any touch-ups, just adjusted contrast and color. This is my first time taking non-traditional portraits and really needs your thoughts.
EDIT: I just posted more pictures on post #19 below
Thanks a bunch!!!

Thanks! I am a little worried that the first one is too bright and that the second one is cropped too tightly, but it didn't look right loose. What are your thoughts? |

The brighter one is a little bright - I would turn it into a B&W and do some burning here and there... The other I would love to see a wider crop - but maybe that's just the "guy" talking ... do you have the orinal? |

I really like them both. I'd be interested to see the processing switched though. I think the tighter crop may do better with the whiter look, while the contrast between the apple and the skin would stand out even more on the first one. |

I would rate the first one ( the lighter one ) higher than the one with a red tones. Probably an 8 or 9 versus a 6 or 7 for the reddish one.
I think that red stocking does not help the apple stand out. If you did not wear any, I'd score it higher. Same goes for the pink background.
For the my preferred photo, the one with you on the back, it may be too bright in places. I'd try with some burning, but use very subtle brush strokes with 3% or less. Don't remove this one from your portfolio it should end up on people's favourite lists.

Wow! I wasn't expecting such a response =) I feel very flattered reading your posts! I've never tried modeling like this before so I was very nervous about it =) But I needed a model for this and I waited too last minute.
I will work on these photos using your critiques and repost the "new" versions duing my lunch break. |

Again... thank you so much for your comments!!!
I just learned my lesson... do not work on photos when you're tired! I saved over my original photos! So I am unable to recrop this looser. However, I did make some modifications and added a different photo to the mix. Please let me know what you like best and what areas I should work on. I really would like to get this perfected before I start doing these types of portraits for others. =)
Thanks!

Once again I must say WOW!!! I really like the new poses also. Great colors in all of them. These are some of the most sensual photos I have ever seen. You don't need to do these for others you have a perfect model in yourself. Very beautiful!!! |

Thanks!
Which of each pose do you all prefer? I am posting them right here in black and white. Do you like the color tinting in my other ones better than b&w? Also, for "Thinking of You" I burned the background a little, do you like it better that way or with it over-exposed (I did this in my last post).
Thanks Again!

Congrats - these are all very good!
I'm not into chicks, but if I were I'd prefer brunettes. What a great model, she looks very comfy infront of a camera. |

GoldBerry, that IS Clarmore!
Honestly I like all three of them all for different reasons. The first one(sweet dreams) I like the pose whith you head tilted exposing your neck more. The second one(untitled III) I just love the expression on your face, very sensual. Also I like that in that one you are actually squeezing your breast in the pose instead of just covering up. It makes me feel that you really "thinking about you" instead of just covering up for the shot. "Devil inside III" I almost prefer it in color because it shows your stockings better, in black and white it almost looks just like your leg is darker than the rest of you...lol.
I hope this helps, its just my newbie opinion. I try to look at photos very emotionally, as in how it makes me feel and what the person in the photo is feeling. Some shots similar to yours look to "set up" (I realize you had to set up to do these) but you know what I mean? They look fake. But your photos are just great!!! Good job, keep up the good work!!! |
