I like the colors and the play of light on the guitar. You need to watch your JPEG compression ratio, however. I can see some compression artifacts in this, most clearly around the volume and tone dials, also quite a bit in the lighter reflection under the strings. Your file size is only 75k and you could have used up to 150k, which would have eliminated visible artifacting.

Unfortunately blurry, lacking contrast and the subject is so small in the image that it's drowned out by the background.

Not sure how you could have improved on this with the particular layout of shot, maybe moved closer to the spoon and zoomed in on it more so it fill the frame a bit, but to be honest I think the idea was the problem as it was always giong to be extremely difficult to really pull it off.

I did something like this for the recent self-portrait side challenge. I don't think it really works well. Mine didn't either. *sigh*
Your spoon and image are much better than mine... but the background is killing this, I fear. Perhaps a color... and solid... maybe black to really make the spoon 'pop'?!
