OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy):

Positives: Great detail and bokeh. I am a fan of highly limited depths of field - so this is pushing some buttons for me. Despite the well rendered detail, much ambiguity remains.

Critical stuff: Ambiguity can work both ways and although this shot is well suited for the recent abstract macro challenge it sits less comfortably in a Free Study challenge.

Overall: There is no doubt that this is competently captured and edited but in the final analysis I'm not sure that this 'cuts the mustard' in a Free Study.
