I like the texture you've captured here. The dark dividing line adds a bit of mystery. Kind of wish that you hadn't titled it to give away the subject so quickly - prefer abstracts to be a journey of questions and discovery.

It's been 14 years since entering a challenge. About time to dip your toes in the water again? :-)

Nice. Like your composition. A more refined crop at the top make this even better in my opinion. Like the focal areas, although would like to have seen all the pistils in focus too (but difficult).

Compositionally, the shot has some merit. The front grill of the car, which seems to be the main focal point, is in a good location for the shot to have balance.

Technically, with just a bit of post processing, I think you could probably have added at least 1, if not 2, points to your shot (if that, indeed, is your goal).

First, I would rotate the shot to the left, just a hair -- about 3 degrees -- not much. Granted the "tilt" is from your perspective when taking the shot, but it still feels crooked.

Then, a slight adjustment with curves or levels would probably eliminate the couple of distracting "things in the background, and they would give the car itself a bit of extra contrast and depth (commonly called "pop" on dpc).

Then, I would boost saturation just a hair to make the blue tarp a bit more vibrant.

It is not a lot, but it may be something that you could try to see if it gives it a bit more of a "finished" or "polished" feeling to it.

Please feel free to contact me if I need to further clarify or explain myself.

Based on the final votes (no 10's) I'd say there was a grain of sarcasm in here. :-/

I did find it interesting how the bluish tarp on the hood helped to contribute to a cooler feel in this photo.

Smile and keep having fun! :-)
