Greetings from the Critique Club!

Decent enough image, good exposure, a little too centred and thus a little too safe for most voters, but still basically a good shot. Can't see any screaming flaws.

I was also wondering why this image is so small, it looks barely even 800p on the long side. Nice wide angle shot, interesting pov (love that you're shooting downwards) Could've ribboned if, as has already been said, at 1200p on the longest side. Otherwise so much detail is lost.

Hope this has been helpful, feel free to pm me

Straight off the bat...if people comment on your image, you might just want to click the 'This comment was helpful' button. If DPCers see that someone doesn't appreciate their feedback, then they will be reluctant to comment.

Now onto the image itself. The composition is just straightforwrard, no interesting Point of View to draw us in - ie you didn't eleveate yourself physically or alternately hunker down low and shoot upwards for a more dramatic effect. Exposure is just OK. The clouds in the sky are whited out and glarey, a big no-no here.

Finally...sorry but DNMC means does not mean challenge, and in this case, it doesn't come anywhere near close. Read the challeng descriptions VERY carefully if you plan to do well here. This challenge was meant to be shot from a street-level and this is clearly nowhere near a street, so you got many low votes there.

I hope this critique helps you understand why this image did so poorly and that you realize the importance of paying attention and simply not entering a challenge with an inappropriate image, simply for the sake of having an entry. I've learned that it's far better to enter fewer challenges with strong images that incontestably meet the requirements of the challenge, than to enter many with poor images that will be voted down for not meeting challenge requirements.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I'm sure this WAS fun to shoot! And... you've captured at least this one well. Lovely job at panning to keep the subject in focus and get that fabulously blurred background to show us the speed of the vehicle.

I really like how the rain added that gorgeous blue stripe on the pavement.

I do wish you'd taken advantage of the entire 1200 pixels and 700MB so we could see the image larger. I'm sure this affected your score negatively. Perhaps some sharpening would be in order to really make this pop!

I'd also suggest a crop off of some of the left of the image, to allow the car to have room to "move within the frame". As it is, it crowds the car... since the viewer gets the idea that it's running out of room. If there's more room forward than to the rear, the viewer can relax while viewing.

Overall, this scored about where I would have expected it to... without the benefit of the voters being able to see it clearly (with the reduced size).

I'm glad you're back at DPC. Keep entering, please. It's fun to see how far you've come since your first race car entry years ago. Well done!

Nice shot of Rock City. I'm pretty sure there's no street there.

not sure if this happened to be this small but I believe this one was needed a 1200 resolution image to show the details and would have made it on top.

You need to take advantage of 1200px.
