Comment by dahlin:
Nice sky. I think a color picture may have worked better with that sky.

Funny enough I was thinking about driving up and photographing this for the challenge as well. Nice image and perspective, you may have been better served in using the full in size and file size. Hope it's doing well for you.

Comment by DJWoodward:
Very nice! It's tough to balance this full range of light. You pulled it off well. Very minor(probably not even worth noting) but I would like to have seen the composition slightly more heavy to the sky, i.e. slightly more sky less water. As cropped it's seems almost too centered for me. Especially with the beams of ligh reaching upward more sky would have been interesting to see.

This is nice; very simple and yet all the more striking for that lack of pretension. I know that sounds contradictory, or counterintuitive or something like that, but what I'm trying to say is that I admire the fact that you have not tried to impose the photographer on the photograph by reaching for some more 'artistic' execution of it, both during and after the exposure. It's a level of restraint that we could all profit from emulating.

You've processed this very well and managed to avoid that horrid HDR look that puts me off all HDR shots in general! Great job.
