'Food for the Heart' | director's cut: reel 1 [frame 253,584; timecode 1:28:05:009]by ImagineerComment: Thanks once again for some heartwarming comments - appreciate it.

Would you be willing to explain this?: "Chose a 14:9 style crop to give it more of a cross-processed dramatic feel." How does that work exactly? |
What I meant was that I cropped it to a 14:9 ratio, similar to the compromise crop ratio used in movies-for-TV conversion, to give a cinematic edge to it. My grammar was not good here and the x-process bit was irrelevant in context of cropping, but was useful in giving it that urban, gritty dramatic vibe, such as in the film 'Kes' or 'Nil by Mouth' perhaps.

Autumnby brad177Comment: A little too small to be fully appreciated this one, but the light on the leaves is lovely. You clearly see the plentiful beauty of this time of year! If you could get closer to the trees next time that would be better, so that we can see more detail and lose the unnecessary elements such as the darker trees at the right side. Good luck. |

Sunset with a Full Belly of Fishby mindbottlingComment: I'd have cropped out the sun highlights here - leaving focus on your beautiful pelican. The water is unimportant to your subject, except for the effect it has on it. |

Emptyby phloverComment: The subject is strong here, but I can't help feel that this could have been better composed. Getting a little lower and shooting an arc from closer on the left round to the distant right perhaps may have been stronger. |

A Bench With a Viewby bobonacusComment: Lovely moment - and a great sky. The boat does not look like one at this size though - more like a spec of dust. Great shadow of the bench. |

Companyby IraklisComment: Very sweet shot. Like the sense of lives passing at different paces, but meeting in the middle for this one moment. Crop is too tight for me though - was this necessary to remove extraneous interference? |

Campus in Fallby goinskiingComment: Oh yes, there it is!
Not exactly the focal point here, but I suppose it is conspicuously un-sat-on. |

Icarus!by macrothingComment: Intriguing shot - a little too sharp but definitely memorable. Like the subdued colour, although that highlight feels just too obtrusive and it would have been more atmospheric to have a perfect exposure and fairly dim mood. |
