Reaching outby finseekerComment by HeiSch: more bouncing light could have helped with a more balanced lighting to avoid the hot areas around the thumb. the warm tones support your title of reaching out to someone/something. the harsh lighting contradicts the warm tones |

Composition is too centered for my taste. Image seems a bit blurry as well as noisy, try a tripod and if you can set your ISO to a lower setting to reduce noise.
Saturation seems nice and I like your choice of DOF. Good luck and keep shooting! |

A new beginningby finseekerComment by SamDoe1: I did something like this for my last "Something New" entry. The only issue I see with it is that the flower bud is too central in the image. It could also maybe be a little sharper and without the white blobs in the background. Overall a good image though. |
