The Frozen Lakeby salmiakkiComment: Wonderful landscape. Even better that it's in black and white. The addition of human elements in the image adds so much life in what would have been a lifeless scene. 7 from me. |

Portuguese Man o'Warby AliciaComment: Interesting subject. The color isolation works well. I would prefer if the background is shown in sharper details, along with the subject. 5 from me. |

Your Majestyby NikonJebComment: Beautiful composition and interesting subject. A bit overprocessed, IMO, and that brings down the score from me, sorry. I give it a 5. |

Waldo's Tropical Retreatby OlyuziComment: The colors are all unnatural, and i am sorry but they are not visually pleasing. I do like the composition and the choice of scene to capture. The excessive post processing, and it's less than desirable outcome, however pulls the score down hard for this. |

And then, suddenly, the rain stopped.by ThingFishComment: Eye-candy. This image has the advantage of being cherry-picked by voters, including me. It grabs my attention in the first few seconds i see it, and my untrained eye usually falls easily for good-looking images like this.
A minute passes by and I am still looking at it, giving me a chance to take note of the other elements of this image. I see that the colors are a bit unnatural, but they are pleasant colors. I would have cropped off the empty right portion as it does not add anything to the image. In fact a square crop from the top left all the way to the bottom may have worked quite well here. The position of the boats are perfect. The light, shadows and reflections were all handled well. Overall, i like your image. Please accept my 7 for it. |

Smoke Machineby petehallComment: It's a beautiful image. The fact that it's beauty reached my consciousness much faster than my personal reaction against industrial (and nuclear?) dangers proves just how much your work on this image has captured my appetite for visually appealing photographs. Please accept my 8 for your photo. |

GO CANADAby glockguyComment: I never really have the right skills to take sports photos. I find it difficult to frame moving subjects correctly. Focus is also tough. The actions usually happen much faster than i can set the correct exposure. If i try to submit a sports photo in DPC, i will probably get hammered down in comments and votes. My final score would probably land below 5, and i think i would agree. Your entry is not much different from my own sports photos. So having said that, please do not be upset if i gave your entry a score below 5. |
