I really like the use of negative space in the shot. I am sure you will get both good and bad comments on that, but I personally like it and think it adds quite a bit to the interest of the shot. I also like the way you have used the lighting to give it a more moody feel. Based upon how clear the triangle is I am assuming a Rembrandt set up. The triangle is just a bit wide for my taste (probably should only be as wide as the eye at its widest) but there will be lots of folks who probably won't even recognize the effort, time, and intentionality of the setup. Technically very very good. I would love to see your eyes give some feeling, but is for me is all about the tech work that went in.

Really cool shot. I can't wait to read where this is if it isn't an aquarium shot. :) I am not a fan of the border as the black of the border doesn't match the black in the shot. It doesn't impact my score but one of those things I would want to know if it were my shot. Great image and I look forward to reading about it later!

The B&W choice is excellent for this shot I really like the way it looks. Suits the image well I think. I a not as sure about the selective blur, but it captures the eye.

A gorgeous butterfly. From a technical standpoint the focus looks off. It could be camera shake, but based upon the amount of light I am going to guess focus was just a bit off. I would also be interested to see i this is an extreme crop as that might help explain. Gorgeous butterfly and I know that it is so hard to catch one this beautiful as they are quick little buggers.

This is gorgeous. Would make my front page easily. This is a fantastic capture. This is also a great example of how less is more. It would have been easy to over-process this but you did wonderfully with shot and processing.

Completely agree with you Joe. Great facial expression on the lion and the branch does indeed distract, but again you shoot for you and not for anyone else :) Nice shot Joe.

Joe I really like this one! I think it is a really good shot. I agree with you that if the lion would have cooperated and looked at you it could be even more, but I think you did a nice job with the shot and from the post processing you did a nice job to tweak without going overboard and hurting the shot. Nice job and keep up the great work!

I love this shot. I am comment only because I just am not really a fan of voting in a challenge I have a shot in, but I really wanted to give a comment on this one. The expression is just plain priceless, and the hair is hilariously awesome. The only thing I see at all that catches my eye in a distracting way is the bottom of the shot. The crop falling where it does can be a bit uncomfortable as it seems to fall in the middle of the bra/sports bra. That being said if you go lower than this how much lower and where do you draw the line and blah blah blah. I think it is a fantastic shot and I really hope the voters agree. Anything less than first page would be a travesty in my humble opinion.

Fantastic capture. Very different than almost all of the other entries as well. Great focus, excellent color, and just a great capture. Wonderfully done.

A fun splash of color and variety! Great use of the mask to draw to the eyes. Also a very nice job using the light to pop the eyes. The only thing I can see that detracts is the crop mid chin, but the more you add down there the more you pick of things that detract from your main subject so I understand the cropping. Nice capture and well done!
