i am a big fan of the repeating liness created by the cactus thorns - i am just not crazy about the out of focus areas in the lower right -it seems to contrast too much the sharpness of the rest of the image in a distracting way

i love how the birches are set off almost evenly along the stream. the two posts on the sides of the image are a bit distracting and I would crop them out a bit. i also agree with other posters about the white snow in the lower left overwhelming the image - a lower angle so to bring more of the trees into play while losing so much foreground might work here (for the next time!)

the repeating and intersecting lines from the posts and siding and flag and windows and deck all work nicely together to maintain a theme. I just wonder about the very narrow vertical crop and the sharpness of the image. A lower angle on the initial shot may have provided a bit more potential for a wider vertical crop.

Wonderful, like a buffalo jump. I like this just the way it is, the bright foreground, the dark geese, especially the almost spatulate tips of the one taking off, and the shimmering greys on the lake and the beyond.

Love the red reflections in the water (shades of water challenge), and the slight irregularity in the rail. Pile of rocks upper left might contribute more with a simpler framing. (Ha, another FZ18). T

First thing I thought was, Hey guys wait for me... hold on I'm coming... guys.
Sorry I got side tracked. Love the contrast and all of the foot prints in the snow are great but that goose on the right is wonderful. It looks like the goose standing on the far left is watching him.

What a great desat. I like the red reflections but I think the red rail is over powering. Maybe if it were not quite so bright. I love the leading lines pointing out to sea. Maybe you should consider going back and waiting for a sail boat to pass right out there half way to the horizon. On second thought, it looks really cold.

I like that you managed to get teh red in the railing and the water reflection. I also feel that I would like to see this in all b&w b/c as it stands the railing does pop due to the color it doesn;t seem to be the main focus of this composition. Maybe a tighter crop for the selective desat or different angle and closer perspective, as Jason suggested, would make the railing more the main focus.
