Waiting For Irinaby greenem2Comment by DrJOnes: I love this shot. It's truly splendid. You capture quite an essence there. I love the use of Diffuse Glow in the image. It's soft an not over done. Visually, great composition. The pose is excellent, and if I may say so, you know how to select your clothes- they suit you very well. This is a 9 or 10 to me. |

Is It In You?by greenem2Comment by qachyk: This will make a lot more sense to people who have seen the ads. Luckily for you, I have.
It's an interesting idea, but to mimic the ads you would have needed somewhat different lighting. Having the colour-on-B&W helps with the impression but it's too bright to meet my expectations.
Hmm. Now that I think about it, maybe you'll be better off with the people who do NOT know the ad campaign.... |

Pinnacleby greenem2Comment by ursula: FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Hello, Matt,
I agree with the commenters below: I like this photo, it's elegant, and the colours are beautiful. I also like the mat/frame, it sets off the photo quite well. In spite of the large amount of blue and grey, the photo has a real warm tone - that is very interesting. The chimney's shadow is beautiful.
There really is little (or nothing) I can think of to improve this picture. It's quite finished the way it is.
As far as the challenge, it meets the theme. The main issue I see with the picture is that even though it might say "Home Sweet Home" to you, that probably is not the first thought that comes to the mind of other viewers. Also, even though it is a good, clean shot, it doesn't really tell a story or invite the viewer to stay and come back to look at it again. But it is a good photo :)
Anyway. I like your work, especially your b/w pictures. Take care,
Ursula (uabresch)

Is It In You?by greenem2Comment by breezy: Very Gatorade-y, and well done. I'm not sure that I'm able to piece together the expression with the sweat beads with the title... perhaps another title would have been more appropriate? Doesn't affect my score though - good stuff. |
