2000 feet above the groundby LoudDogComment: A terrific shot - I love the dark silouhette against the blue sky and mountain colors below. This is definately 'on the edge'. Composition and color are excellent. Great work. :-) |

Synergistic Snowflakes by EddyGComment: This is incredible!! I'm amazed it's a real snowflake! Here in AZ we make those out of paper... I had no idea they were really shaped like that... lol. Truly brilliant work Eddy, congrats on the blue. :-) |

To the Moon by tfaustComment: Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments! I was pretty darn surprised to open my browser and find this shot in 3rd place! Makes for a nice little Christmas gift. :-)
I was out shooting a friend of ours at a Motocross track in the East Valley. He'd just come off the track for a break, so I set my camera down for a break also. I started hearing comments "look, check that out". Turned around and there they were. Made a quick reach for the camera and didn't have much time for focusing, set up, etc. they were passing us by. The first couple shots I took didn't have the moon in it. The last one I saw the moon in the viewfinder and remember thinking: I hope this turns out.
That's how I got this one and now I'll be heading out to try and 1) find this guy and 2) get more shots of them. |

Personal Paradiseby tfaustComment: Thank you for the great comments everyone. I'm very happy with 5th place.
Steve, thanks a lot for the tip on the hot spot. I ended up using the dodge/burn tool for the print and I think it came out better that way. |
