The beginning of a fabulous vacation... OK, not bad. I like the clouds, they look 3 dimensional in the picture. Focus seems just a bit soft.

Comment by Matthew:
Nice clear photo. However, lacking in drama - sky looks a bit faded, sea quite calm. Wonder if a panoramic, letter box style would help the composition? Link to challenge is entirely in the title.

Comment by AFViper:
This is a decent photograph, technically good. It would help if you included something in the foreground to give the photo some depth. I would also move the frame up just a little to show more of the sky, and improve composition a little. One last thing, you should always have one side meet the maximum 640 pixles.

This is a nice image. I love the variations of blue you have in this image. I also love the texture of the water seen here. Nice work.

2 rules broken here...

1. Watch your horizon, it's going on an upward slant. Make sure to check for level next time.

2. The horizon is almost smack dab in the middle, and it really takes away from the image.

I would have shifted the camera to look more to the right and get more of the land, and perhaps zoomed in a bit, that would eliminate the half/half photo.

Think the forground "thing" is destroying your image, taking the attention from the main subject.. The low angel is good to represent the size and power of the main subject.
I just got wondering if your point is that the "thing" is the strong thing, thighting the 88.500 tonns? If so I think you should have used lower apperture to cast the ship and other background things out of foucs.
