Hahahahahahah Roz , You are hitting the nail on MY head.

It is funny how you get so wrapped up in life, that you forget or loose touch, with the things that really bring you joy. Photography, and all aspects of the process have been a huge passion for me over the years
and a lot of that passion came from the DPC challenges and the spirit of this community. I carry my camera and gear with me 24/7, but lately and for longer than I will admit, I never bring them out to shoot.

As I look forward to 2023 I hope to get motivated and reignite and reintroduce myself to the shutter button on my camera. You might see a few more entries from me in the not too distant future.

I have 2 lovely granddaughters/models(LOL) now who have never met the umbrella man. Where did I leave my bowler...?

Thanks for the very kind words Roz I appreciate them more than you could know.

I find that difficult too .. overcoming the inertia and motivating myself ..
but often when I do the 'payback' is wonderful .. being in the zone when taking photos .. it's like a meditation .. changes the colour of my day ..
then if a photo goes well here there's the validation and appreciation from other ppl .. which always feels nice ..

the other wonderful thing about this very unique site is we take photos that would never have existed if we weren't shooting for a challenge ..

if you're anything like me .. some of those photos taken for challenges have become my most precious .. especially if family were in them ..

many congratulations on this beautiful image getting the blue .. it would look amazing printed and hanging on your wall .. :)

Thanks Roz :D

You are right ... I am pretty sure I would not have hung my daughters and wife with ropes and roofing harness in the back yard, or crucified myself, if not for the answer to a DP Challenge LOL

Cheers !

Thanks to everyone who viewed voted and especially commented on my trees.

I was driving from a job and encountered this crazy fog. I have been away from shooting regularly so it was 'challenge' to overcome inertia and
actually get in the headspace of shooting. All of a sudden I saw this stand of snow covered trees. I initially drove by thinking to myself that looked really cool.

I went about a km past and said F it, and did a quick u turn. I am so glad I went back. There was snow drizzle and deafening silence ... really beautiful.

DPC has had some obvious changes over the years, but its spirit and the challenging of ones creative juices is still the same.
And I can tell you, it is just as exciting at the rollover last nite, as it was so many years ago.

Thanks again to all :D
