the lightest and finest,
most crude and most pure
of humors.

a reductive rigor
defying all it embraces
playfully,

even gravity.

And 'bon mot'
for the title,
the smack

pun of it.

Comment:
a study in aesthetics and composition.
The magic is as dazzling as it is subtle
in the way the vertical lines and planes

do not fall but resist
the ominous downward
pull to the left.

Balance turns to poise, and as such
quite a demonstration
of how the parts

relate to the whole,
how to compose
by field..

Thank you.

easy-going snapshot intimacy
that isn't quite yet
ready

to give up on aesthetics
or pretty sentiments,
as long as it stays

personal
and cannot be confused
with less.

Graceful, sensuous mystery, immaculate capture.
The separation from the crowd is parabolic.

Comment:
The rustling of silk is discontinued,
dust drifts over the courtyard,
There is no sound of foot-fall, and the leaves
scurry into heaps and lie still,
And she the rejoicer of the heart is beneath them:

A wet leaf clings to the threshold.

The petals fall in the fountain,
the orange-coloured rose-leaves,
Their ochre clings to the stone.
