Great image Drake. I like it for all the same reasons you have identified in your comments, it works well. My only criticism would be that I feel it is too tightly cropped on the right, it would be good to have some 'breathing' space to look into. The exposure is good with nice crisp white snow as opposed to the usual grey from insufficient exposure. Well done.

Ah, we get to see him much better this time Drake, though I have to say, I do like the action one. The poor bird's wonderfully coloured beak is getting lost in all that snow! I like the composition and the background snowflakes it all works well but its the detail that sets it apart and gives it its impact, well done

Great dynamics Drake, lots of comments, which also goes to prove the value of a title to an image, not only does it add value to the image but it also gives an insight into the photographer's thoughts and aims in creating the image which again helps the commenter to assess the image. Anyway, all that said, the snow shower fills the frame nicely which would overpower the hard to see bird, its very fortunate the bird is such a bright scarlet colour it still manages to come through.
