The trailer in the background makes me feel like you have not only captured your subject, but in just one pic you've told us more about his life and his world then would be possible in many many words.

What an amazing shot... such great composition, so simple yet powerful, no part of the frame is lost yet all conspires to bring attention to the subject. And the subject gives as a glimpse of life that is so hard to get, but so amazing when captured like this. This shot belongs in any photography book that I've ever seen. Going straight to favs.

This is a picture I could see in the NY Times. Almost in a National Geographic too.

Great street portrait. Powerful expression, and the eye contact works so well. The cigarette conspires to the expression as well. A glimpse into an interesting life makes life more interesting for the viewer as well! Well done.

Which is your subject? The father and the son? The cold metal and stone that surrounds them and reminds us of life itself, not heeding us? I guess it's both. Very powerful composition and overall an image that leaves an impression.

I love the blur - what a great way to take an OK image and turn it into something special. All of sudden, we are no longer looking at two players, but at the game itself, and maybe sports in general.

I like that all four people have distinct and interesting poses. Like the grain as well.

I like the high-key look, I think it goes very well with your subject, the expression and the overall great feel and energy of the image.

There is so much movement in this photo, in the blur, the pose and the eyes. It balances together perfectly. Unfortunately, lighting is a bit flat and the image is very small...

I am a huge fan of the aspect ratio that you get when using long focal lengths on landscapes like this. And in this particular image, it is not just aesthetically pleasing, but also powerful. The nature's sheer force seems to overpower man's structure, yet the cathedral has a power and majesty of its own. The black and white treatment lacks the usual contrast, but somehow contributes to give a timeless look to the image.

Excellent shot. 10 from me and my personal blue ribbon in the challenge.
