The death of a beatiful flowerby DjabordjaborComment: Very well done. The subject doesn't really make much of an impact on me, though. There isn't a real emotional connection for me in a contrived set-up like this --- it doesn't have any kind of connection to the human experience or any natural experience for that matter. Others will probably love it though. |

Simple Sepia Shadowsby Rae-AnnComment: I think you need a bit more contrast between shadow and background. The shadow isn't really the main impact of this photo. My eye is immediatly drawn to the door and the pattern of bricks and then the pipe. |

Dinner?by TonyTComment: This is dark but it doesn't really seem to make a visual statement about 'shadows'. It's more of a humourous take on the garden sculpture and the toy. The idea just isn't gelling into a good photograph for my taste. |

Shadow Ballby liltritterComment: I like the sparseness of this. It captures the action and the idea and does it in a nicely graphic way. |

A barrel of funby BoltiComment: I like the surreal quality of this. I can't quite get a handle on the proportions of things. I initially thought the barrel was an old tin can. I like the vintage, rustic colors. |

Sunset Rustby BlueZamiaComment: I think you needed to stop down your exposure a bit to get a more contrasty capture of the shadow. It doesn't make much of an impact with this somewhat overexposed shot. |

Nature Reservedby sacredspiritComment: This seems to be more about the lightning and sillouhette than shadow. I don't really see a sillouhetted object as being the same as cast shadows. I guess that is nitpicky but this just doesn't work for me for this challenge. |

Double Helixby jdannelsComment: Very nice. I would have cropped or cloned out the lamp and the gulls though. They really detract. |
