Blue jeansby alpharichComment: Hmmm....this looks kind of like a desperation shot. I could be very wrong but it doesn't appear that much consideration went into this...there isn't anything drawing me in, making me want to linger with the image. |

Appleby jmritzComment: This looks kind of unpleasant and gory to me for some reason. It is definitely difficult to tell that it is an apple. I'm not drawn to the asthetic at all. I'm not seeing anything pleasing or interesting in the way of color harmony or pattern. I doesn't appear to show much consideration for design, rather, it is merely a close-up of an apple stem. |

colorby riderComment: It could be sharper...is the grainy affect something that was added in post-processing? I'm not sure it works great for this. I like the overall color and pattern but I think it would be more affective if it had been cropped to eliminate the areas of green in the background. |

Hmmm...I'm not sure if nostrils should be a focal point! LOL!
I can't remember. I fiddled with PS Elements. I used a couple of different filters. Charcoal was definitely an effect. That was the main thing. Most likely I adjusted the layers first. I should pay more attention to that stuff, huh? Here is the original. |

iii: focusby annasenseComment: This isn't the most compelling animal shot for me. I'm not getting much from it. Maybe if his eye was engaging the viewer more? |

Girlby ergatesComment: Nice color and simple composition. I don't care for the girl's expression though...she looks bored. |

Cooling offby alliebealComment: I missed this during the voting. Great observation of light and form but it also conveys a timeless mood. |

Blue Doorby SammieComment: This shot caught my eye because one of the many shots I took for this challenge was of a blue door (in a very different environment). I'm always attracted to brightly colored doors as subject matter. This had a lot of potential for me. I can't recall what my vote was since for some reason it isn't showing up as red on the comment page.
I wish that you had raised the camera just a tad so as to avoid cropping out the top curve of the wall and showing a bit more of the blue pipe (post?). Instead I find myself distracted by that bit of white (a doormat?) at the bottom. There are some kind of blue numbers that catch my eye.
A scene worth going back to shoot at sundown when the walls would really glow with warmth. |

The Poseby librodoComment: Beautiful capture. I love her shy but quiet confidence. Love the dimple.
I like the somewhat unexpected placement of the subject and the use of the landscape format. It is interesting to see your work without the post-processing that tends to give your photos away. I didn't see this during the voting. |
