This brings back memories of being dizzy and stubling off. Actually, as I look at it I have a slight physical twinge of motion sickness... for real! I can't look at the shot without getting that feeling. To me that says it's a great shot! At first glance I thought it was an ordinary shot but I quickly realized there's much more to it. Unfortunately I have to stop looking at it because it's making me dizzy. You're getting high marks from me for my strange reaction to it. 10

Nice composition. I love the ground motion created by shooting this from the merry-go-round.

Technically you've managed to get that motion sickness feeling very well, thanks for that, really, I'll be fine again soon.

On a more personal level it has just struck me that we never know what the people viewing our photos bring to the experience. I look at this and I'm transported back a few years, I was taking a group of disabled kids to the park and we were putting the wheelchairs on one of these because it was the only thing they could use. I noticed a solemn little boy watching us wide eyed, after a while he disappeared to return a few moments later with his sister, in her wheelchair. We stopped the ride and helped them on but I have never forgotten the sheer joy in that boys face as he played on the playground with his sister and whole new world of possibilities opened up for him. So there you go, it brought tears to my eyes from an almost forgotten memory. We never know who a photo will touch and why.

I think you did a nice job to get the subject off center and to control the rather difficult to deal with grey sky. As Sonifo commented, taking a lower angle may add a bit more drama to the shot. Also, the barn itself comes off as rather dark, maybe trying to photograph it in the early morning or early evening when the light is softer may help pull out the textures and soften the sky.

This barn sure needs some more investigation on your part! I think you could find about 10 entries out of that one barn. I could imagine that there are lots of cool bits that could be taken in macro - rust and decay sure show up great in close ups.

Now that is a one cool old barn. Have you seen any owls hanging around it?

I would say that the angle isn't to bad, but to make it more dramatic get a bit lower to the ground as to be sneaking up on it and giving the barn more power in the image. Using curves or contrast would really make the textures stand out too. Oh..most don't like a subject centered in the shot but to me..sometimes is ok and I think this time would be ok as long as it is shot from a lower angle.
