Seems a bit washed out, it may be my screen. I like the composition but I could give up some of the detail in the shadows for some boldness in the contrast.

I am participating in the "Why a '5' not a '6'?" commenting activity (see recent forum thread). Viewers are asked to leave a comment with some of their votes of '5' letting the photographer know why, for them, it fell short of a vote of '6'. If you have found this comment useful, you may wish to offer some of your own to those images where you vote 5.

I like the almost abstract presentation of this. Why a five and not a six? The lighting, especially in the distance (the glacier, I suppose), feels a bit harsh. I think shooting earlier or later in the day might have produced more dramatic shadows and offered a lot more options. Still, it's very compelling, and I like the cool tones and quirky geological forms.

Took me a while to wrap my brain around what my eyes are seeing. Unfortunately, for a shot like this, that isn't a good thing :-/

Comment is part of the 5 versus 6 comment, sorry, but I'm sure an interesting subject like that could have been better captured, I gave this a 5 because I don't find it captures what must be awe inspiring

This hurts it is so nice! Lovely PP work. My only nit is the reflection of the biggest ice peak on the left is so much darker than the rest of the reflections. I still think it would have worked without making it that dark. Still an amazing shot though!

Wow, look at that fantastic blue in the glaciers! Love the mountainious region in the background that complements the shape and span of the ice-blue glaciers in the forefront. Clouds are spectacular. This is a high above average shot (7) but there is one thing holding it back from being in the exceptional category. Oh, no doubt the scene was fabulous to experience; not grading it on that but on the composition. I find that the reflections of the clouds in the water makes the composition too busy and draws focus away from those fabulous glaciers and the mountain range beyond. Cropping out the reflections of the 'popcorn' clouds but keeping some of the water in the shot would allow your main focus to be stronger and shine.

As a casual street snap, this has some interesting things going on. But this feels too candid to be considered a street portrait. And the telehpoto lens doesn't help in that respect.
