What a wonderfull image, ... and what a dead-ugly frame!
Really, its the first thing my eyes were drawn at. It takes away the attention from the image itself (which deserves all the attention btw).

This was my favorite in the challenge. Too bad it ended on the 23rd, but 5.7... not bad after all, heh.

Simple, yet strong composition. A well executed image with strong emotional quality.

Not very shallow, but deep DOF will do ;-)
Very nice one! Lots of depth and very strong leading line. It sucks you right in. Welldone!

Leading Lines, Rule of Thirds, Soft Focus

Hmmm... I gave you a 4 on this one: Soft focus allways gives a kind of dreamy feel to an image, and the subject is always sharp and in focus, but with a kind of haze laying on top of it. Most soft focus images also don't have a strong contrast.
This isn't soft focus image imo, but just an out of focus one. (Soft focus is always achieved with a special soft focus filter attached to the lens, or with a PS technique involving a blurred, in opacity reduced layer on top of the original). Also the leading lines are not very convincing.
